THE WEAPONS I. OVERVIEW Weapons are individuals that are genetically special in that they are capable of altering their body structure into the shape of a weapon. While they are transformed, though, they are completely immobile, thus requiring the help of a Meister if they want to accomplish anything. Weapons are usually paired up with a Meister of their choice to be their partner, and they are used to help put their weapon forms to great use. In select, very rare, cases, a Weapon requires no Meister while in their weapon form: having a Meister would either prove to be inefficient or else too difficult for the Meister to effectively wield. In these cases, it's possible for the Weapon to work on its own. Either way, Weapons fall into one of four categories:
II. STUDENT WEAPONS (1) can generally be called the new kids on the block. They are all currently attending the DWMA and all may or may have not already found a Meister partner. With their partner, they learn how to do a proper Soul Resonance and various other abilities needed to be successful. While a student, a Weapon can learn how to properly control their transformation and are under the careful eye of Lord Death, as well as the Death Scythes and Promeisters. It is here at the school where they team up with their partner and eradicate the Kishin in hopes to become a Death Scythe by obtaining 99 Kishin Egg souls and 1 Witch's Soul. However, if a strong sway of insanity were to occur, then it is a possible that a Weapon could be twisted into a Dark Weapon.
III. DEMON WEAPONS (1) are those who have either graduated from the DWMA but have, for some reason or other, not become a Death Weapon (often because the positions are already filled). This also includes Weapons who exist entirely outside of the DWMA, as with ancient Weapons, some of which being older than the school itself.
IV. DEATH WEAPONS (1) more commonly known as Death Scythes, are the best of the best. They are Weapons that have consumed 100 souls, 99 Kishin Egg Souls and 1 Witch Soul, and have learned how to control the various abilities of said souls. Death Scythes are able to alter their weapon form in ways a regular Weapon couldn't possibly dream of. More than that, they are capable of harnessing the magic of the Witch's soul that they consumed, making them all the more deadly. They also have the honor of being considered a weapon to the great God of Death, himself, Lord Death, but most--if not all of them--have their own Promeister by their side. As of right now, there are only 9 Death Scythes that exist on the earth, and every single one is assigned to a section of the world where they are to maintain order in the midst of madness. These sections are as follows:
NORTH AMERICA OPEN POSITION EUROPE OPEN POSITION EAST ASIA OPEN POSITION OCEANIA OPEN POSITION SOUTH AMERICA OPEN POSITION AFRICA KOJO VORSAH, THE FAR-SIGHTED RIFLE RUSSIA OPEN POSITION MIDDLE EAST OPEN POSITION SOUTH PACIFIC OPEN POSITION
V. DARK WEAPONS (0) weapons that have strayed from their paths in search of more power, turning them into Kishin Eggs in weapon form. Dark Weapons lack a partner, unless their Meister followed them into the madness, and instead rely on their insanity to corrupt someone into wielding them for a short period of time. Dark Weapons, much like Death Scythes, have excellent control over their transformation abilities, but they lack the stability and power of a fully-developed Death Weapon. The price to pay for losing sight of the goal to become a Death Weapon is a heavy one to pay, and it only leads to insanity.

THE MEISTERS I. OVERVIEW Meisters are the human companions of Weapons. They are just as important as the Weapon they wield when it comes to fighting a Kishin or a Witch. Meisters act as the sole fighting body of the two-man squad. There are two categories that a Meister could fit in. II. STUDENT MEISTERS (0) can, in a way, be considered greenhorns of sorts: they are still attending school at Shibusen under the watchful eye of Lord Death, Death Scythes and the Promeisters. Even though they are not nearly as experienced as the Promeisters, they are sent on missions to eradicate low-leveled Kishin, and occasionally Witches, along with their Weapon partner. They undergo similar training to the Student Weapons as they work to become stronger, and almost all Student Meisters share one goal: to help their partner become a Death Weapon.
III. PROFESSIONAL MEISTERS (2) Promeisters for short, are a collection of individuals that have graduated from the DWMA. Most of them have received top scores and were allowed to continue at the school as professors to teach the younger generations. However, their list of tasks is much longer than just teaching the new kids; it's up to the Promeisters to deal with the Kishin and Witches that are too powerful for students to handle. To do this, several will have the great honor of working rather closely with the Death Weapons--some of which they powered up themselves--unless they have their own partner outside of that elite group to work with. Beyond that, they also have the task of seeing to functions Lord Death has throughout the world.

THE WITCHES I. WITCHES (1) individuals that have the ability to alter the world with their "magic," which is actually an advanced usage of their Soul Wavelength. Every Witch is unique in his or her own way, no two having the same animal familiar or avatar that they channel their themed magic through. Most Witches are considered to be "evil," and those who fall outside of that category seem to be few and far between. However, they never seem to lose their sanity, giving an indication that they move to the sway of magic rather than the sway of insanity.
This sway of magic is the very thing that draws Witches together into larger groups, known as Covens. The Covens usually bring the Witch Queen to power, but that process is an utter mystery to anyone outside of these circles. Witches can also use the sway of magic to gain knowledge of and power over their current environment.
Witches are not limited solely to the female race, with the term being more of a catch-all for the entirety of the magic-using community.
II. IMMORTALS (0) the most powerful of witches, for to be a part of the Immortal Clan grants the individual with an indestructible body that heals up even significant wounds in a matter of seconds--for the most part, though sometimes they will not grow back in quite the same way. More than that, such witches have an even slower aging rate than their normal counterparts, easily appearing to be within their 20s and 30s for hundreds or thousands of years. The one-in-one hundred witches within the Clan are associated with beasts of legend--werewolves, vampires, sirens, great serpents, etc.
Currently, the methods required to kill a member of the clan- assuming such a thing is possible- is unknown. Some conjecture that it may be by damaging or outright destroying their souls, their very essence, for what could possibly live without a soul?

THE KISHIN I.
II. KISHIN EGGS (0) the lowest level of a Kishin that there is. It is what becomes of a human when they first fall into the sway of insanity. While in this first stage of development, the potential Kishin experiences a great influx of strength, speed, agility, and stamina compared to that of a normal individual. During this particular time, the individual's body may start to twist and contort with their Soul Wavelength, in most cases creating a monstrous appearance. It seems that while he or she is in this phase, the Kishin Egg is at its most volatile state and is constantly being assaulted by the insanity wavelength that their body readily absorbs, sans any counter measures.
III. KISHIN LARVA (1) the second state of the Kishin development. This stage occurs when when the constant absorption of the insanity wavelength becomes much too much to bare for the Kishin Egg, and true madness begins its full descent upon the individual (assuming they survive the process). Once it awakens as a Kishin Larva, the individual has come that much closer to becoming a forebearer of insanity. In the Larval stage, the potential Kishin starts to develop his or her own insanity wavelength, though they still lack any control over it, meaning they require a strong push from an outside source to complete the evolution. Even without further evolution, a Kishin Larva can easily match a Death Scythe or even a Dark Weapon. Currently only 9 individuals are known to have survived such a transformation.

IV. KISHIN (0) those individuals that have become the forebearers of Insanity. Once they are fully evolved, they gain full control over their insanity wavelength and become a force that influences the making of other Kishin Eggs and Kishin Larva. For this very reason, they are hunted down by Lord Death and are sought after by Witches. This level of evolution is currently locked until further notice.
